Nathan’s Birthday Cake.

21 Feb

Wow. I am a terrible blogger.

My springtime resolution (yes spring, I am officially over this winter) is to commit to blogging every monday.
..Tuesday on holiday weekends.

This past weekend we celebrated my nephew’s 9th birthday.
I make his cake every year, and this year he requested a chocolate caramel beyblade cake.

I want to start posting recipes up along with my baking, however, I am not 100% committed to the chocolate cake or caramel recipes that I used this time around, so I will save that for another time.

For now, here are some photos of the end result:

Cupcakes for bridal shower.

11 Dec

For this shower, the lovely bride-to-be had already chosen her three flavours, all I had to do was make it happen!

1. Chocolate cupcake with white chocolate icing, topped with a white(blue) chocolate ring!
2. Red velvet cupcake with cream cheese icing, which I coloured blue to tie in with the rings.
3. Pink champagne cupcakes! ’nuff said.

It’s December?!

2 Dec

So, I missed an entire month of posts! But I have been working. Soon to come will be pictures of a Wedding veil, and more cupcakes!
I also discovered a  new website where I can sell my items: www.thingspeoplemake.com
It is completely free to post and sell on this site, as opposed to etsy which charges fees. So I’ve been reluctant to post anything else on etsy and working towards building a new profile here.

After this weekend I will have time to really figure it all out and finally post pictures of the mountain of product I’ve been sitting atop.

Thanks for checking out my blog!

Switchplates!

28 Oct

Easy fun project. All you need is a switchplate (old or  new), some podge, and a covering of your choice (magazine clipping, wrapping paper, fabric…). Alternately, a really easy way to do this is with contact paper. You don’t have to worry about what the back looks like becuase it will be screwed to the wall!

Warm Circle Scarf

21 Oct

It is getting mighty cold outside! I love circle scarves becuase I find them a little more managable than a regular scarf. There are no loose ends to contend with. This is just a simle crochet with a soft boucle yarn.

Skull Dishcloth

14 Oct

Just a quick fun project, a discloth with a skull pattern knit into it. Made with bernat cotton yarn. One ball project.

Baby Set.

14 Oct

Crochet coccoon and three rattle toys with matching giftcard!
